When Vinted wins
Vinted is built for second-hand fashion and everyday items. Because the buyer pays postage, your listing price is all you need to think about, and there's no label cost coming out of your money. For clothes under about £50, that simplicity and Vinted's bargain-hunting audience usually mean a quicker sale.
When eBay wins
eBay's buyers search by exact model, size and brand, which suits electronics, collectibles, car parts and anything with a model number. Auctions help when you don't know what something is worth. For valuable trainers, bags and fashion, the free Authenticity Guarantee from £200 gives buyers confidence to pay more.
Watch the buyer's total
Both platforms add a fee on top of your price, so buyers compare totals, not your asking price. On Vinted the buyer also pays postage separately. The calculator shows what the buyer pays on each site, which can matter more than a few pence of difference in what you keep.
Can you list on both?
Yes. Lots of sellers list the same item on both and remove the other listing as soon as it sells. The risk is selling it twice, so be quick to delist, or use a cross-listing app that does it for you.
