How the Vinted fee works
Vinted adds its fee at checkout, on top of your price. Vinted's own page sets it at 5% of the item price plus £0.70. Its name is the Vinted fee from 8 Oct 2026. Before that it was called the Buyer Protection fee, and Vinted's help page explains the new name. The amount doesn't change. Nothing comes out of your money, but buyers see the total, so it's worth keeping in mind when you price.
Who pays postage
The buyer chooses a carrier and pays for postage at checkout. You print the label, or show a QR code at drop-off for some carriers. Your only costs are what you paid for the item and any packaging. See the UK postage guide for what each carrier charges.
When you get paid
Vinted releases your money once the buyer confirms the order is OK, or when the 2-day window to report a problem closes. It then arrives in your bank within about 2 days.
Costs the calculator leaves out
Vinted sells optional paid promotion to sellers, such as Bumps and Wardrobe Spotlight. These are your choice and aren't included here. Buyers can also add Item Verification for £10 on eligible designer items, which they pay for.
Selling as a business
If you sell regularly to make a profit, you're a trader in law and should use Vinted Pro where it's available, which has its own terms. See do I pay tax on Vinted and eBay sales? for what counts as trading. Vinted, like other platforms, reports seller income to HMRC once you pass 30 sales or about £1,700 in a year.
